Barrie, Orillia, Muskoka & Parry Sound Birth Photography Model Call

Birth photography?

Yes, Birth photography. You had your wedding photographed, didn’t you? This is just as momentous!

Listen Mama, I was there. The birth of my daughter happened so fast and as we approach her first birthday, details are already fading in my memory.

Her birth CHANGED. MY. LIFE. It was transformative.

It wasn’t the water home birth I had hoped for, not even close. She was born out of my belly. But still, TRANSFORMATIVE.

I don’t want you to forget about one of the most important days of your life too. That’s where I come in. I’m a documentary photographer, which means that I photograph your birth story as it unfolds with creative and meaningful images.

Relief. Relief from pushing, relief that her baby is finally in her arms.

Most mamas wish they could relive the birth of their baby. Let me photograph this once-in-a-lifetime happening so you can focus on the most important day of your life.

Every s.i.n.g.l.e mother I meet says the wish they had known about birth photography before their bab(ies) were born.

3 Reasons to Hire a Birth Photographer

  1. You forget.

You’ll want to remember those first moments for the rest of your life. The first latch, the first measurements, holding your baby for the first time, your “I did it” moment. Photographs will take you right back to the day, the moment. You won’t have to fumble around hoping someone caught those with their inadequate cellphone camera.

  2. The details.

There is so much going on when you’re in labour that you’re not aware of. The way your people supported you in your birth space and how you handled each and every wave of contractions - not being aware of your own strength and courage.

I didn’t get to see my husband meet our baby for the first time because I was strapped to a bed. It all happened out of my view. I’m SO GLAD I have photographs from the operating room to see those firsts that happened where I couldn’t see.

  3. So you can be present.

Labour is so hard! The whole process of pushing a baby out of your body is exhausting (to say the least!). Or the fear of having a belly birth preoccupies your mind. It’s all you can think about. It’s all you can do to focus on your breathing and repeating your affirmations. Take the pressure off yourself and let a professional Birth Photographer take care of capturing the moments so you can focus on the most important day of your life.
